Juliet - I can't believe I have to find out about stuff like this online, but at any rate, I LOVE IT. This is exactly what i would have picked for you -- it reminds me of the old RFM photo of you (green and white striped shirt) that I was looking for to take in when I got my own hair cut two weeks ago. Love the layers, love the length. Vast improvement. And even if you do grow it longer, keep the layers. Who did it? You need to give some credit online. Somebody knew what they were doing.
